The buds of the rare plant Artemisia Absinthium became known as an ingredient in the infamous alcoholic drink Absinthe. This brought many artists, including Van Gogh, peace and creativity. The useful plant was even banned for a time because it was believed to induce hallucinations.

The strikingly bitter herb has traditionally been used medicinally, particularly for digestive problems and stomach complaints.

The extract is a highly concentrated version of the herb. On its own, it is primarily a calming agent, for example as a tea. In combination with alcohol, the herb can produce other effects.
