The nematodes Steinernema sp. against the sciarid gnats are visually imperceptible nematodes, which seek out and invade the sciarid larvae in the potting soil, secreting a bacterium that kills the sciarid gnat larva. The nematodes also lay their eggs in the larva of the sciarid mosquito. The nematodes are optimally active from a minimum potting soil temperature of 13 ° C.

Application
The nematodes are supplied in a clay substance, which you dissolve in water. With the solution, spray the surface to be treated with a watering can or sprayer. Do not apply in bright sunlight (nematodes are sensitive to UV radiation). As soon as the nematodes have penetrated into the ground (within a few hours), UV radiation has no influence anymore. The application instruction is included.

Operation
Once released, the nematodes actively search for sciarid larvae to infect them. After infection, the larvae stop feeding and die. From the dead larvae a new generation of useful nematodes is formed that look for new larvae to infect.

Packing
The nematodes are delivered in a clay substance, packed in a transparent bag. Shipping is done using an air cushion envelope (chlorine free).

To keep
Nematodes can be stored for several weeks in the refrigerator at 4 to 12ºC (not in the freezer!). The packaging contains an expiry date.

Returns
Nematodes cannot be returned due to their nature. It concerns living material.
